Mike’s personal faith in Jesus Christ is evidenced not only by his service to the congregation of High Street Baptist Church as a deacon, mission committeeman, and as an elementary Sunday school teacher but also by the way in which he conducts his daily business.
Mike worked his way through school earning a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education at Southwest Missouri State University. In addition to his coursework, throughout his collegiate experience, he enjoyed solving customer concerns for a Springfield business. During this hands-on learning experience, Mike developed a great appreciation for negotiating with people and reaching amicable solutions, a much needed skill for a Congressman.
As a farmer, Mike has experienced the struggles food producers face to maintain a viable business in a down economy and he has made the tough decisions necessary to stay in business. He has also realized the success and satisfaction that results in providing a quality product to America’s tables.
Mike has been married to his wife, Denise, for 30 years. The commitment to his wife and five children confirms that Mike knows what allegiance truly is. Mike and Denise have enjoyed the freedom of educating their children at home for the past 16 years. Mike is committed to retaining and returning freedoms to the citizens of Missouri’s 7th district and to all Americans.
Born December 31, 1958, Mike lives on his farm in Ash Grove, Lawrence County, Missouri with his family.
